What makes your bottles different?
Our bottles are unique from the many single-walled bottles out there. You can put hot contents in the thinksport bottles and not feel the temperature of the contents. When the bottle is ice-filled, the outside of the bottle does not sweat. Also, the thinksport bottle has an elegant, easy to hold contoured design making it visually distinctive from the many straight-walled bottles available. The wide mouth of the bottle makes it easy to add ice cubes. The mesh filter will stop ice cubes or teal leaves from reaching the spout when drinking. Finally, we do not line the interior of the bottle with any chemicals.
Where are your bottles manufactured?
The bottles are made responsibly in China. To proactively address any concerns that you may have, I will mention that we have a very stringent chemical policy. You can go to www.thinksportbottles.com/learntss3.htm to learn more about our policy. The thinksport bottles have been and continue to be tested globally to insure their safety. Whole Foods Corporation has audited our facilities for compliance in Good Manufacturing processes. In fact, our bottles undergo rigorous chemical and biologic testing from multiple laboratories to insure that they do not contain or leach toxic chemicals. Regarding quality, the thinksport bottle has been thoroughly field-tested since our inception over three years ago with excellent results. Note from the Founder: We spent nearly a year and half testing paints from across the globe to be able to offer an assortment of colors. We were unable to find a US or European paint company that tested free of lead. Further, we were unable to convince any companies to produce a lead free paint in the US. We have since located a manufacturer overseas who produces lead free paint. The US standard and EU standard allow for low particle counts of lead in paint. We do not. We do not test to see what is leaching off the bottle, we test the wet paint - a far more accurate way to test for the presence of a chemical. We do get the question often as to why we develop the bottles in China. Having worked for a lab funded by the National Institutes of Health, it became clear that there is no country that is making safe products. The US has products and chemicals in production that we cannot export as they have been banned globally for over 20 years. It is responsibility of the manufacturer to ensure that the products they produce are safe.
